Jennifer * Office Manager
I have been in the dental field since 2001, and have worked all aspects of the front office. Dr. Dorantes was one of the first doctors I worked for and we remained friends over the years. As his office manager, I can truly say it has been a delight to watch this practice flourish from day one. I promise to answer any questions you may have with regard to your treatment plan, billing, or insurance to the best of my ability — with a smile! One of my greatest joys in life comes from helping others and making sure patients’ visits are a little less stressful each time they come. I love witnessing an apprehensive patient leave with a big smile and less fear because of their experience. Here at Lakeview Smiles, we’re truly a family. We are all very professional, but know how to have fun, too!
At home, I have two sons: Kaeden and Kolton. Spending time with my family and friends is most important to me, whether we are attending church, adventuring around the city, or having a lazy day at home. I enjoy a good sunset or view, Starbucks, and chit-chatting about life with others. Oh! And I am a “12” (Go, Hawks!)
Valerie * Insurance Coordinator / Dental Assistant
I have been a licensed dental assistant since 1985 — still at it! I thoroughly enjoy, after all these years, the amazing outcomes dentistry can bring to one’s confidence and overall health. My professional relationship with Dr. Dorantes began in 2000, when I stood chairside with him as his first assistant out of dental school. I was excited to see that his dentistry and techniques had only improved, when he asked me to accept a part-time position to help out at his new thriving solo practice.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and friends and/or entertaining any type of crowd! I think I am a “professional” comedian, but my husband thinks otherwise. (Haha)
Jennie * Schedule Coordinator / Dental Assistant
My dental career began in 2014 when I graduated from Pima Medical Institute as a registered dental assistant. I moved to the front staff shortly after, when the need for Spanish-speaking front office coordinator arose, which was a wonderful opportunity, since my passion for patient care and attention is the reason why I pursued a dental career.
As your patient coordinator, I will assist you in scheduling and maintaining your regular check-up and cleanings, explain and help you understand your treatment needs and the financial aspect of it, and most importantly, address any questions or concerns you may have in your journey to a healthy smile!
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, friends, and family, and being active in my local church.
Alma * Lead Dental Assistant
I was introduced to the dental field in 2002 when I was offered a great opportunity to learn how to be an assistant at a pediatric dental office. Due to my love for children, I accepted! I like to help nervous patients by educating them and making them feel comfortable so they can receive the dental care they need for ideal oral health. It’s so much fun coming to work each day at Lakeview Smiles; it’s like leaving one family to go to another!
I am a proud mother of three teenagers, who are the loves of my life. I enjoy playing tennis in the summer and restoring vintage furniture in my free time. I also think it’s very important to help others in need, so I serve the community as much as I can.
Lilly * Dental Assistant
I was born and raised in Tucson. I moved to Washington state in 2006 to be closer to my family (and a much better music scene). After years of serving my community in the coffee industry, I decided to follow in my mother’s footsteps and take on the challenge that is the art of dental assisting. I feel I specialize in creating a transparent environment for patients to achieve a well-rounded, healthy, body-mind-and-soul connection.
I love my two adorable little dogs and kitty, and support thriving communities and the arts along with calling Redmond my home.
Barb * Dental Hygienist
The world of dentistry caught my eye back in 1979 when I started my career as a dental assistant, I later made the decision to advance my career and send myself back to school. I graduated from the hygiene program at Shoreline Community College in 1993 and have yet to get tired of building lasting relationships with my patients as well as educate them on the importance of dental health and preventive care. As your hygienist, I am committed to building a trustworthy relationship with you as well as answer any questions you may have in regards to your oral hygiene.
I have been married to my husband Bruce for more than three decades, and together we have a great son, Lucas, who is a student at Western Washington University. We also have two Shetland sheepdog fur babies that keep me busy, but when I have some down time I love to read, shop, and go to the movies. Even though I have traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast, I absolutely love the Northwest and all of the seasons it offers.
Wanda * Dental Hygienist
I began working in dentistry as an assistant in 1996 and pursued an education in dental hygiene. I received my degree in 2002. The one-on-one interactions I have with patients are the highlight of my day. I love making them feel comfortable and at ease during their hygiene appointments, while providing thorough yet gentle and compassionate care. I feel so at home with this team in our wonderful office environment. We all share the same goal of providing excellent patient care.
I feel so lucky to be married to a wonderful man and have two young daughters I love so much. My free time is spent traveling, hiking, going wine tasting, and spending quality time with my family.
